The choice of the professionals

A stack of 10 C-Caps takes up very little space in the back of a van so you can always have them ready for use, saving time wasted on a return journey to site. For Retail and Trade customers we can supply direct, boxed in 10’s, 20’s or 30’s, delivered usually next day. For a quotation, please ring us on 01661 833233

Injection-moulded from ‘Styrosun’*, a recyclable material ideally suited to outdoor applications, the C-Cap fits neatly over the chimney pot where it is retained by galvanised steel spring wires.

It can be fitted to any standard round pot up to 280mm diameter and is light enough to allow several to easily be carried up the roof, where fitting to the pot takes a matter of seconds.

Many thousands of C-Caps are fitted throughout the UK, as far north as the Orkneys, and it is the only cowl for disused chimneys that guarantees 100% protection against rain, snow, gales, birds etc. – in fact everything nature can throw at it.

All C-Caps are supplied with an optional ‘insect screen’ to provide additional protection against nesting wasps. This can simply be fitted with the C-Cap at the discretion of the local specialist, as appropriate.

Pots need to be in sound condition. Any cracked pot should either be replaced or suitably strapped to allow insertion of the C-Cap retaining wires.

The unique design of the C-Cap allows continuous, permanent ventilation of the chimney, as recommended by Building Research Establishment (BRE).

simple, easy to install and very effective’

the problem… Left uncapped, disused chimneys are prone to a number of major problems arising from exposure to the elements and blockage by nesting rooks .

the solution… Fitting a C-Cap provides instant protection against these problems, potentially saving hundreds of pounds on costly repairs. Fitting takes seconds and can readily be carried out by any local contractor, chimney sweep etc.

with the necessary equipment for roof access. The Building Research Establishment (BRE) recommends disused chimneys should be capped off at the top with a ventilated capping.

Where a disused chimney is left uncapped, it is open to the UK weather, which annually can be relied upon to deposit several feet depth of water down the average chimney. This can give rise to damp stains appearing internally and over time it contributes to steady internal deterioration of the fabric of the stack.

Blockage of the chimney by nesting rooks will not stop the rain getting in but it will tend to trap the moisture in the chimney by blocking ventilation and preventing the moisture from drying out.

Not to mention the dreadful unhygienic mess that nesting rooks can cause and the difficulty of removing the nests once established!

The C-Cap fits over the pot, retained by galvanised steel spring wires and its unique design allows constant ventilation of the chimney, while providing 100% protection.
